Facebook Notifications When I Open Google Chrome

When I open a webpage on my laptop, notifications from facebook pop up on the bottom right hand side of my screen. This happens when I haven't opened facebook. It could be any website.
I presume that I need to change my settings somehow but is it on Google Chrome or facebook that I need to make the changes?
I'm happy enough to get the notifications when I am on facebook, but not other websites.

Wow mamyalynne that video made me a bit cross-eyed!

My page layout looked a bit different but I think I have done what it suggested so hopefully that will stop it from happening.
