i have just bought a vauxall corsa 1.2 LS. it has alot of miles on it but the engine has been reconditioned. i have a small problem nothing major my car does about 60 miles to �10, i pay about 92p a litre . is my car doing too little miles for for amount of fuel i use?

Allthough it depends on the sort of driving you do and how "heavy" your right foot is that does sound a little too thirsty I think that's about 25 mpg you should be able to get about 40 I'd have thought.

do u think if it needs cripping and turning?

I'm assuming that when you said reconditioned that's what you meant and it hasn't been "uprated" in some way.

If that's the case it may have a problem with the oxygen sensor telling the engine management to run too rich or some similar fault but it clearly needs attention - I'd guess there's a good chance it's emissions will be shot too and will fail the MOT

cripping and tuneing , well what my dad says is that it is tested by machines to make sure everything is running correctlly.

Have to agree with jake-the-peg about different driving styles but I would be looking for somewhere around 90 miles as a minimum from nearly 11 litres of fuel, especially from such a small engine.  Shouldn't be a major job to get it checked out.  Good luck.

simple thing like correct tyre pressures,non binding brakes,regular servicing,etc have a bearing on fuel economy also

i put in �20 at first it lasted 125miles. the secound time i put in �10 it lasted 60 miles.
