Blooming Specsavers!

I treated myself to a designer pair of frames - John Rocha- they were £125 plus the lenses. Yesterday I went to put them on and the right arm literally just fell off. I took them to where I bought them and said look it's just fallen off, they're only a couple of months old. Had the Spanish Inquisition! Have you stood on them? No. Have you sat on them? No. Have you dropped them? No!
He then says he'll need to replace the entire frame. Why? Coz pin has snapped. Erm just replace pin?? No can't do that. Well how much will this cost? Same price as you paid in first place. How come?? Oh because these lenses won't fit in new frame so we'll have to replace them too.
Forget that I told him - that's ridiculous! Well try superglue he said, and off he walks!!

Specsavers looks like a 'big company' - but actually is a partnership of small local opticians using standardised branding and products - which makes it tricky to escalate complaints - so you need to push hard at your specific shop.

I dread to think what profit margin is being made on your glasses sold at £125 plus the lenses. Print off the information that Baldric found, take it into Specsavers and don't leave the premises until they fully resolve the issue to your satisfaction. Once they have replaced them, then ask for a full apology from the idiot that suggested you use superglue. Whatever you do, don't say, 'forget it' again. If they don't know consumer law, then you need to get Trading Standards involved. Good luck, and remember the law is on your side.
