I have an electric toothbrush that I bought six months ago but put off using till now as I wasn't sure I would like it, but now I have decided to get it out to use I don't think the thing cleaned my teeth at all, when I looked at it closely the head or bristles don't move at all, just vibrates, I am sure this is not right, it is a Colgate omron has anyone got one of these and can tell me whats wrong with it please?
Sounds like my sonicare. It vibrates at high speed, you guide it along your gum line and over your teeth, both back and front. Since I have been using it I have always received praise from the Hygienist on my oral hygiene as there has been very little for her to do.
Yes, if it's a "sonic" device- like the Philips Sonicare range - the head does just vibrate......whereas the Oral-B heads move around a lot.
All the Which? Best Buys seem to be Philips and Oral-B....Colgate doesn't get a look in at all!
These have several settings for the head movement - you may need to read the instructions or try pushing the various buttons around until you find a suitable mode....
I use a sonic one. You have to brush with them the same as a non-sonic one. One hopes it shakes the plaque and tartar off (no guarantee) but you still have to do a decent job. They tend to time the 2 minutes for you.
many thanks for your help, I will have another go with it, I suppose I am just set in my ways and this is a new idea, I must get up to date in my thinking.
