Cleaning Up My Old Bike
5 Answers
Just retrieved my old bike from the back of the shed where it's been languishing for a couple of years. The paintwork and wheels will be good as new with a wipe down but there are some rust spots on the handle bars. Can anyone give me a good tip to get these clean and shiny again?

WD40 and a (very) gentle kitchen scourer (one of the non-stick ones) - don't scrub too hard, just work persistently at the rusty bits. Get it nice & clean and rust free & wipe dry with paper towel. Then give a final wipe with a dry cloth lubricated with just a small spray of fresh WD40 - to stop the rust returning.
