Keyless Ignition Fob

My latest car, purchased aprox eighteen months ago, has a keyless ignition fob, but I didn't realise until I came across this three year old internet article, just how vunerable these type of cars are.

Thieves who have invested in the kit needed to amplify the fob radio signal so that they can steal a car are interested in high-end high worth vehicles.
If you car fits the bill – I’d consider keeping the keys within a strong metal box, located as far from the parked car as possible within the property.

Hymie - My car is definitely not a high end, high worth vehicle. Are you saying that a car of lower value, such as mine, would not be targeted?

An important security measure is to ensure the car has locked as you walk away. If the thieving toe rags can't block the signal, they will have to smash the glass, which they would rather avoid.
