Weshop.co.uk Has Anyone Usedthem?

I’m a little perplexed, apparently I can order perfume/aftershave from Superdrug and then I’ll get it free?
Sounds scammy as you get nothing for free unless I’m missing something?
Here’s what I’ve been emailed
Join WeShop for free. It takes less than two minutes
Click 'Buy now' to visit Superdrug and purchase the Calvin Klein CK One Eau de Toilette 100ml for £20.00 from Superdrug.
WeShop will handle the rest! They'll track your purchase within 24 hours and add 2000 points, worth £20.00, into your account once Superdrug has approved your purchase
Once your rewards are payable, they can be withdrawn to spend as cash, a gift card at chosen retailers, or donated to charity

I’d personally be very wary of a company who’s website seems to be a bit ‘smoke and mirrors’ on how it actually benefits both itself, the retailers (presumably through some sort of commission?) and the customer.

This is also my thinking zm, I just had a quick look on their faq and seen this.
“WeShop is a place to create and share a profile full of your favourite products online. Anyone can setup a profile, add their favourite products from retailers, customise the layout, add individual collections and upload relevant content such as photos, captions and reviews. Profiles and products can be shared across social networks and every time a product is purchased through a profile, the users are attributed points accordingly. It's the best in social shopping!
As users have the ability to earn money on WeShop, we are focused on encouraging them to develop their entrepreneurial side. Users can create a profile packed full of products they love and share them with their friends and the wider WeShop community who possess similar interests and tastes. Users have the power to turn their profile into a real money making business. WeShop is working with international brands such as Apple, Samsung, Nike, Sony, Adidas, Ralph Lauren, Marks & Spencer, Microsoft, John Lewis and ASOS.”

Hc but then they’re practically throwing away money by giving you branded goods for free so what’s they’re angle? They mention social networks so am wondering whether it’s some kind of pyramid scheme to rope in all your fb, insta and Twitter friends/followers? Or even tho they say they turn it around within 24hrs do they hold on to your purchase for a few weeks making money via banks=interest?
Zm what was avon in the 70’s????

Thanks hc, so Personal info selling for marketing and a nice sideline in a social networking pyramid scheme thingamijig. This makes sense. It appears that getting friends involved isn’t a prerequisite so if them having my details and monitoring my shopping pattern to target ad me then it doesn’t seem that bad as other companies do this all the time without telling you or giving you anything.
I just clicked on 'buy this item' (an Amazon Kindle) and get directed to the Amazon UK shop to buy it direct from them. Definitely the genuine Amazon store so you don't give any money to We Shop and as far as Amazon is concerned it is a straightforward transaction between you and them.
I'm not sure that you have to give We Shop your real name if you can link the bogus one to your PayPal account.
It's the same as all the other cashback sites available, really.

Yes, and selling your details to third parties. Martin Lewis the 'money saving expert' recommends some cashback sites on his own site

According to the T&Cs of your particular offer you don't have to buy that particular perfume, just buy anything £20 or over from Superdrug before the 14th Feb to get the £20 back. If you particularly want something it's worth a punt.
