Chess and checkers are two different games, the british word for checkers is draughts

Chess is a vastly superior game on the intellectual scale
I'm crap at both, so I'd say checkers - only one sort of move there. P.S. it's draughts in this country!

depends what mood I'm in and who I'm playing. I play my dad at chess via email, which is a pain as the kids keep moving the pieces then I have to go back through all my mails to get to the same point again...!

Draughts is a cool game if you're in a hurry or have a few minutes to pass.

I don't think the two are comparable really. Its like trying to compare monopoly with connect 4

If you like checkers, have you tried the reverse checkers. The aim is to get rid of all your pieces as quick as possible, and you must take, if a piece is available. V quick and great fun too.
As my chosen name implies, I play Chess, nationally, Draughts/Chequers, when played properly, has quite a high skill level, and shouldn't be put down, when young, I was taught by an ex British champion, and even though the two games are always compared, they are totally different, and shouldn't be.
