Attendance Allowance
9 Answers
Sorry I didn't know where to ask this so chose here. Friends of ours, she has had attendance Allowance for a out four years. They recently put in for him to have it as he has become worse in disability etc.
They have heard nothing, no communication BUT that's not the problem it seems. He has had a payment from the DWP into the bank which in effect means he has got the AA BUT no letter which she had prior to payment.
They are wondering if the acceptance letter has gone astray or what...they don't know if it's for indefinitely like she has or limited to review. Do you think they should wait further for the letter or contact the DWP ASAP?
Thanks for your help.

Thank you. Well because of the payment which has been back dated it seems he has got it because the money has gone into their bank this week! The only concern is that there hasn't been a letter confirming he has got the allowance where when she rec'd hers about four years ago, they said she had got and that the payment would start from such and such a date.
I feel that he has got it but the letter could have gone astray, delivered wrongly or lost I the post. Anyway I think I will advise them to write to ask the status. Thanks everyone.
