What are the tax rules regarding items bought from Jersey? Would I have to pay VAT or some sort of import tax when it enters the country? If it helps it is a skydiving container I'm buying priced at close to 1000. Would I only have to pay the tax if I were to get it shipped to England, if there is a tax/VAT to pay? What if I were to actually go to Jersey in person and return home with it? I'm guessing that technically you should declare it or something, but I'm sure that you can get round that... couldn't you just say you took it with you when you entered or it was a gift from a friend in Jersey or something if they checked?

Thanks guys
