I'm going to get myself a freeview box. Are they easy to install? considering I'm a girl and not great with technical things.

As long as you've got a reasonably modern TV (i.e. with a Scart socket), it's an absolute doddle. Unplug the aerial from the TV. Plug it into the back of the Freeview box. Plug the Scart lead (which is usually supplied) into the Scart output from the Freeview box and into the TV's Scart socket. (It will only fit the right way round, so you can't go wrong). Turn the TV and the box on. Then just follow the instructions which come with the box. (It'll be very simple. Probably something like "Press 'Menu'. Select 'Set Up'. Select 'Autotune'"). That's it!

PS: If you can cope with all the menus and sub-menus on the average mobile phone, you'll be astounded as to how much simpler the Freeview set-up is!

oh and don't be swayed by the more expensive models. from my experience, the cheapest ones are just as good (if you are prepared to sacrifice aesthetics).

I've had two previous digboxes which finally died just out of warranty, one was a cheapy and the other was a Goodmans, so I don't think the price is any indicator. This time, however, I splashed out on a fusion digitech from Currys at �130 see here http://www.fusiondigitec.com/ and I'm absolutely delighted. It includes two tuners and a hard disc!!! This means you can throw away the video recorder and all those unlabelled tapes with programs on....that you can't remember. Now I can totally rearrange my viewing life painlessly. Brilliant machine!
