Advice Needed From Professionals

Hi,
I joined a company 5 months ago. I am an engineer by profession.
They wanted me to do a work in company that I didnt knew(which I told them in interview). The task is not easy(a complex programming, for which help is not available on the net, a unique kind of microcontroller).
I tried to learn that programming(I was already doing some other computer programming), but I couldnt. There was no mentor in the company(already had left the job), so I asked for a training after 1.5 months, and company fired me, but next day the decision was taken back.
They gave me another new task which I completed very soon(as it was relevant to my previous experience). But they are again demanding the same thing from me which I couldnt do, and I am again feeling hopeless, but I am trying.
I am trying to switch job but I am not getting any offers from any where as well, but I am trying.
If some body has the experience of same situation then plz share, or suggest whatever you think is right.
All I need is your advice and suggestions.

They seem a useless employer. Redouble your efforts to find a decent one.
