Yes the numbers themselves will not change it's just how they are represented as everything works in units of 10 so, these measurements are all the same length because there are 100cm in a metre, and 10 mm to each 1 cm. So:
Athiest if you can't work out what 13.36 M is in cms ( move the decimal point two digits to the right ) then you would have big big trouble trying to work out feet and inches. Much easier to divide by 10 than twelve :-D
Conversely if you are au fait with feet, inches, rods, poles, perches, chains and furlongs, you are set up for mental arithmetic for life and will find metric units a doddle.
