You're probably going to have to read between the lines on product manufacturers' websites. For example the technical specifications here effectively explain why you might need several different crushing devices in a lab:

(Take a look at the output grain size. If the samples you need for analysis need to be in the form a fine powder you'll need to use a vibrating disc mill. If a larger grain size would be easier to analyse then one of the other two types of device might be more appropriate. If you're starting off with very large sample, but you need to end up with a fine powder, you might need to use a two-stage crushing process, feeding the output from a jaw crusher into a vibrating disc mill).
