Surgeons At The Edge Of Life

What a fascinating programme. It had my nerves in shreds.
Two operations.
One removing a tumour from the base of her skull. They managed to remove 80%. Unfortunately it regrew. Another operation removed 95%. They know it will grow again.
The other removing diseased bone and tissue from inside her face. This was horrific, she had been unable to open her mouth more than an inch so had to have a liquid diet for weeks. They had to saw her jaw apart to get inside. They made a replacement part for her jaw from her hip so she was operated on from two ends at the same time.
The whole op was so messy, unable to recognise that a face was under there somewhere.
She made a reasonable recovery, needing more treatment to improve her looks after the op.
Very toe curling to watch but fascinating.
