It is for a bet, I dont think it would be over a million pounds, but there are over 6,700 items or something in a copy.....

Ooooh, what an intriguing (but pointless) question! It could be over a million when you consider that lots of stuff in the jewellery pages are in the hundreds and then there are all the electricals.

What a great question.....surely must be over a million...look at those childrens garden toys which are about 2000 quid a go.....plus jewellery, beds, furniture, sofas, tables......the list of expensive tack is endless!!!!

But a million is still a lot though! Im just not sure it is a million, any ideas on how I could find out? Without going through the whole thing with a calculator!

The only thing I can think of is if you take, say a two page average from each category (cos like sleepincutie and Hermia say Jewellery etc is expensive) then multiply it by the total of items in the catalogue to give you an idea. But, no that probably won't work cos we don't know the exact number of items!!

Errrmmmm could you email argos through the website? They might think you were a multimillionaire!

Or get the calculator out and start adding.......

Out of interest how are you going to settle this bet? Does the other person know the answer, how are they going to prove it?

Could do the average idea I guess, there is the advert for Argos at the moment which talks about a guy having to find 6,700 presents, so I am guessing that is about how many items.

Think I may have to contact Argos, but if it takes them 45 minutes to find a toaster in the store room I dread to think when I will get an answer!

The other person is also researching the value too, when we have an answer the money changes hands!

i work at argos, but unfotunately i don't knwo how many items there are altogether! service at my argos is always fast....no waiting around for 45 mins for a toaster..no thnkyou xx
