Been scanning the EC site etc but nowhere does it explain what the rules are for the actual name. Surely there must be some rules, no expletives, falsities etc but there does not appear to be any guidelines anywhere. Thanks.

There really don't seem to be any. I have had a leaflet through from the Liberal Democrats, complaining about democracy... so, hypocrisy is all fine...
There are no rules . Only that the name must not be 'offensive'. Offensive is not defined , so if there was a complaint it would be up to the Civil Court to make a ruling as to if it really was 'offencive'. That of course would be very expensive with Barristers for each side rubbing their hands in glee !!
What was that name of that party years ago-? Something like-Raving looney party. I can picture the man .
^^^^probably wouldn't be allowed nowadays.
^^^^thanks mamyalynne
You're welcome.
They all qualify under that now x
^ That was it! Their motto was 'Vote Loony , you know it makes sense'

legendary policies!
I've still got the manifesto for the Fancy Dress Party that stood locally in one of the general elections in the 1970's. Nowadays their policies would make more sense than that which we've been subjected to recently !
