Sacked For Using The Company Car
This appears well OTT. How much is this officer worth tothe Royal Navy in experience,Training and courses etc You don't just pick any old matelot to command and control the fleets largest ship. I suspect he may have put up bigger black than just using the company car. What say you?

An ignominious end of his career. I think that Britannia should waive the rules.

In my experience those with access to company cars have to sign some form of agreement which makes it clear as to what usage is permitted and covered by insurance, so I'd take with a pinch of salt any suggestion that he wan't aware of the rules.
But it does seem very OTT based on what we have been told. I think it's pretty likely there is more to this story, so we should wait and see

as with most police stories retro
we have no idea what the back story is....
is this a one off? does he do it regularly?
was there a lady inside or a rent boy?
was he unavailable during ?
did his colleagues tire of covering for him
and let him take the fall......
If dishonesty is proven, then you can as ever and in any job be dismissed ....
