I pay monthly for my phone bill and noticed a call charge which I thought was strange. Being a tight wad and called the service provider, the call took several minutes before speaking to a human being in the Philipines who very kindly told me to like it or lump it. Now my question is this, does your provider charge premium rates for calls to 101 111 and 999, ? Due to site rules I will not mention the name but there is a lot of red in their ads.
Standard landline and mobile calls
Description Charges
999 emergency services Free of charge
111 NHS medical helpline Free of charge
112 emergency services (from a mobile) Free of charge
101 Police non-emergency line 15p per call
You can call 112 or 999 (always free of charge) even if there's no credit on your phone and there's no Vodafone signal. (Your phone will automatically connect to any available network).
Calls to 111 are always free.
Calls to 101 are charged 'per call', rather than 'per minute', at 15p.
Just an update, I have now changed provider to one that cares for customers safety and does not charge for 101, 111 or 999 calls, so up your pipe Branson.
