We've had problems with our new LED PIR outside lights and are looking to replace them. They were probably cheap rubbish as they only lasted a few months before fading out.
I've found some alternatives and know to look for IP65 rating or better for weatherproofing. But the ones I've found seem to have sealed cables now.
So where we want to take the old one off the wall and wire into a new one, we now have to install an external junction box . Or how else would we deal with a sealed cable on the new unit?
Any suggestion on fitting, makes or models gratefully received.
Thank you The Builder. I was nervous about using a junction box, but that one looks sound and up to the wild weather whistling round these parts! Easier to wire into as well, rather than the fiddle of connecting directly into the fitting. I'll see if I can buy similar from the same light purchase site.
