Advice On Car Scrapping
In the family we have a runaround car with very low mileage for its year, mechanically very sound and probably worth £1000 - £1200 if it had a long MOT. Problem is with MOT due it needs at least £800 worth of welding to the underbody - the top of it is fine but the bottom has had it. Not going to spend that kind of money but is there any alternative to scrapping for about £60 at our local yard? It seems so wasteful when the engine etc are fine but we don't want the hassle of breaking it ourselves.

I scrapped a car through these people (Government/DVLA approved):

They paid more than I was quoted by a normal breaker, came and took it away free of charge, gave me a cheque once car was loaded and I received a DVLA linked Certificate of Destruction.
