Mobility Scooter Batteries

A scooter bought 2014 has been little used - especially in recent years and now the two batteries seem to be dud due to not being charged. Can someone suggest their expected life in normal use so that a reasonable buying price can be negotiated?

Thanks Buenchico. I'd no idea that lead-acid batteries for buggies had such short lives. I agreed to buy a very clean-looking buggy for £400 from a neighbour and if new batteries are installed, intend to offer £430.
