Can't remember the last time I visited an Argos store - it was that long ago - but I've just received a text from them saying I've won a £500 gift. A link is provided to visit a website and the mobile number of the source of the text is shown. The website address is https://bit.ly/ARGOS-2uaHqON and the number is 0751 6094779. Apparently I have until 23 Feb to respond.
Thanks. Makes a change from the emails offering such prizes. Why on earth anyone would expect Argos etc just to give things away like that I don't know. The only scam texts I get are ones claiming to be from EE selling me extra minutes/data and texts from someone called TestersKeep where iI apparently get to test and keep free Dysons , Apple ipads, etc- but there seems no way to block that caller
The TestersKeep ones don't show a number- they just show as TestersKeep, and although I can delete them the usual BLOCK option isn't there - I don't know how they manage that
I think that the emails that do not give a block option have to be reported as Phishing scams and then when they are in the deleted file they can then be blocked. It works that way for me. They all seem to have emojis in the header as well.
