The general rule is, you need to find an employer who can prove to the government that you should be employed instead of a U.S. citizen, so in-demand professions, medical is a good one - are a safe bet, others less so. My father has been in the process of trying to get into the US for nearly a year. Apparently the us embassy in London is the worst in the world and takes the longest. If you can apply elsewhere i advise you to do that , if not you will need lots of patience. You cant call or email to see how your application is going either!
