Inspired by an entertaining thread on Twitter today.

The correct way to store one's cutlery is as follows:

Top drawer in the kitchen. None of this silly second drawer down nonsense.
In the cutlery tray - from left to right: knives, forks, spoons. Teaspoons horizontally stored in the bottom space.

Jury's out on second drawer down versus counter-top holder for utensils.

Well AB?

That was the exact arrangement on my (top) cutlery drawer, until himself decided to clean it out and put it all back wonky. Now it’s spoons, knives then forks
Second drawer is for teacloths, dishcloths, bin liners and whatevers.

Spoons and knives need to change places or just be wrong.
We don’t have a second drawer down. Now what!
cutlery tray, top drawer.
left to right, knives, forks, dessert spoons, soup spoons.
Horizontal, teaspoons in one, dessert forks in the other.

2nd drawer, napkins and tablecloths.

Kitchen utensils in utensils jar(s)

Rolling pin - wherever it fits. :-D
Save the planet.
Chuck 'em all in together, as the Thunbergs do.
oh no, TL!
An organized cutlery drawer is as important as an organised knicker drawer :-D
I don't have a second drawer.

Cutlery drawer - spoons, folks, knives.

Utensils in jars and hooks. Cooking knives on a magnetic strip.
Gee Alba. I never thought of it like that.
(Must make sure Mrs T's drawers are well organised!)
That's how ny cutlery drawer is. And it's at the top
The next drawer down has larger cooking utensils and the last drawer, things like foil etc.
Never mind the cutlery, what about all the other garbage we collect?
Tin openers, potato peelers, potato mashers, sieves, bottle openers, stuff to come in handy one day?
That’s how mine is - with the utensils in a lidless biscuit tin, knives in their stand (evil, Uber sharp knives that look cool). Second drawer is for tea towels, cling film, sandwich bags, etc and my stash of Haribo. Bottom two drawers is anything goes.
Spoons, forks, knives, then a big mash up of scissors, tongs garlic crushers and god knows what else.

Terry Pratchett wrote a funny bit about the god of the cutlery drawer, where you say ‘Oh, god!’ trying to wrench it open while something’s stuck in it. We’ve all done it, I’m sure.
Cutlery?

Er, what's that then?

\\ Cutlery drawer - spoons, folks, knives.//
I wish my cutlery drawer was big enough to keep some of my folks in.
have you been in my kitchen, Chinajan?

I haven't really settled where the ladles and tongs and carving knives go but the important stuff is exactly as you say.
Mamya, I like the idea of the cutlery tray but it's a bit on the pricey side. Joseph Joseph usually is though.
Top drawer in a tray - forks/spoons/knives L-R. Teaspoons crossways.
You know it makes sense!
Cutlery tray - left to right.
Spoons, forks, knives. Teaspoons in horizontal section at the front of the tray, tin-opener, jar opener and small balloon whisk in the space between the tray and the drawer sides.
