I'm not 100% sure yet but keeping my eye on it. My question is, is it possible to find a company which will sell me a new one, uninstall old one, install new one and dispose of old one? Cringing here at what it's likely to cost. Thanks guys and gals.

All my appliances are integrated, it was how the kitchen was built before we moved in. Going to free-standing would spoil the look of the kitchen immensely so I would not consider that. Hopefully your dial changing will fix it for you LB. We are changing because we had exactly the problem you did with the freezer. About 6 months ago when it first happened (during lockdown) the local supplier said to turn it all off completely for 24 hours and then restart. This did cure the problem for a while but now it's started happening again. The most likely cause apparently is the door seals age and wither a bit. And to add to another thread from a couple of weeks ago, that is why we had problems having planned so poorly for our 2 week post holiday quarantine, items in the freezer had become spoiled and uneatable.

Chris, I'm going X eyed trying to do this in Appliances Direct. I need the nearest I can get to:
H178cm x W56cm x D50cm. I think the height must be dead on and also the width but I'm thinking the depth might have a bit of flexibility. Am I wrong?

Thanks Prudie, sorry about your disaster, nasty.
The seals are absolutely fine, perfect in fact, you can feel the slight pull when you open the doors. Like you I will stick with integrated. I'll see how we go with the new temperature setting and if it is stable I will defrost again when it's near empty.
I do need to line a replacement up so I can move quickly if necessary so as not be without one for long.

Hope what my dealers told me is correct but he said the width is the same for all makes and also the depth. It's the height that varies.

Sounds like a pain in the bottom. If I had integrated appliances all our food would be in cool boxes while he hides in the bedroom pretending everything is alright :-)

Tuvok, no luck there I'm afraid.
However, nothing has changed in the freezer from yesterday when I turned the temperature up, so I'm thinking that is good news. For the moment anyway. At 12 years old it's been good so can't really expect much more. Thanks everyone for your help.

LB, it might be worth giving AO a ring to ask if they have something that will suit. They really are very helpful indeed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Superb service!

I don't think 12 years is a long time at all for White Goods - I expect at least twice that (and get it usually).

Naomi thank you but it's too hard to actually get to speak to a living person at AO. Plus on their website they had only one that would fit but it had the wrong hinges anyway. I've decided to see how it goes for a bit longer and then if necessary I'll use Currys. I've surprised myself choosing them but for £64 they deliver, uninstall old and install new and take away the old one and all the packaging - all on the same day.
Plus they have a choice of For Funks Sake that will fit.
So all cool here at the moment;-)
