I loved backing books, especially when the teachers weren't too sniffy about the materials you used.

Yes! Why did we have to do that? I guess books were more expensive then and had to be protected, but we did it with exercise books too. Luckily friend of the family worked in the local paper mill and send over rolls of lining paper which we used for just about everything.

Yes I remember doing that. I had to use left over wall paper on one or two books. The anaglipta stuff, however you spell it!

Not for me, as I've discovered a long time ago that your nostalgia is not the same as mine.

Yes I remember that, used wallpaper mainly. The local decorators would give away old sample books. As for a nostalgia category I'd say nearly a quarter of all CB posts are about that or go that way already.

Yes. I used to use pictures of rockstars and then covered in strips of sellotape. Lol. I still have one of them now and use it.

Actually, the one I still have was an A4 file. We only had to do those and text books.

Another category, the ones we already have remain unused and are dying.
Nostalgia Category would die a similar death as nostalgia would quickly overflow into CB.

Sqad, I think the categories were due to be rearranged when the site was, but it didn't happen. We do seem to have a lot of subcategories not easily seen or used, but then, R&S, B&S should maybe be main ones.

I remember that, I also remember taking singles into school for the school disco with my name selletaped to the middle.

loved loved the coconut sponge at lunch (my oul mother could not cook) but the 8 of us survived LOL

my aunt (her sister) went to domestic college probably in 1950s or 1960s - god what a fabulous cook, she showed me how to make Baked Alaska and I was gobsmacked - when she was able to take out freezing ice cream out of the oven. She laughed.
