Have you recently installed an extension or software?
Cartageous is a google extension that is for shopping. It compares prices and gives "reviews". It is an extension so should be removable in settings using the usual uninstall method.
You never came back Peter but I will assume that you are using chrome and have allowed the extension to hook you. to remove it.....

To the right of your address bar, look for the extension's icon.(that is the cartageous icon) Right-click the icon and select Remove from Chrome. If you don't see the extension's icon next to your tool bar, make sure that you are currently using or have chrome open... Then(in chrome) at the top right, click, More More tools, Extensions. Then on the extension you want to remove, click Remove. Confirm by clicking Remove.

Togo, I've just got back home, I have looked for it but cannot find it in settings, I don't have Chrome.
Question Author
Settings icon is not on my screen, where can I find it?
What browser do you use, Peter?
Question Author
barry ...... Google and Firefox
And which browser is giving you the problem?
Question Author
Google Barry
chrome IS the google browser
In that case follow Togo's instructions at 16:39 - click the three dots at the top right of the screen in the browser
What icon do you see at the bottom of your screen? If it's a green, yellow and red disc with a blue centre then Chrome is your browser and it uses Google as its search engine.
If you're using Google as the search engine in the browser Firefox, then -

Click the three lines (hamburger) top-right
Click "Add-ons and themes"
If it doesn't open in "Extensions", click that (left hand side)
Look for "Cartageous" - to the right of it are a switch & 3 small dots - click the dots then click "Remove"
^More - Firefox might say something like "removal will be completed when you restart Firefox" - if it does say that, do so.

I'm sorry, I've followed all of your instructions but cannot find it in Extensions and Themes
"Simple rule:- full stop, comma outside, ? and ! inside."

JD, would you write, "Who produced, 'Lost in Translation?'"

Ignore that...
In Chrome can you see a jigsaw piece icon at the top right of the screen? It looks like a grey blob - click that and you should see a list of installed extensions.
Can you see Cartageous in the list?
Question Author
Barry, I haven't got Chrome.
You have got Chrome, Peter, you choose to call it Google
