My American friend is home at the mo in Belfast - in fact off to Carlingford for a few days today.
Anyway she lives half in Florida and New Jersey and in February 2022 has a cruise organised with her friend to go to the Mediterranean from Miami. Now I can't work that trip out - what way is she flying from America - also if it was me I would be going to the Bahamas but she is "fed up" with Bahamas.
I recall going on a cruise in November some year back on the Med and it was the worse ever as the food was brilliant but I was very cold that we had to ask for more blankets for the bed.
Surely it would be cold in February and also what way is she flying from Miami?
Ask your friend how she is flying from Miami to the Med. I have had holidays in Spain and Portugal between November and March and the weather has been around the 18-20 degree mark which I find pleasantly warm during the day but can be cool at night.
Sailing or flying she'd obviously be travelling east across the Atlantic towards us, hardly likely to go back across whole of USA, the Pacific and all of Asia to get to the Med! And yes it won't be warm in February but if it's for sightseeing rather than beaching it won't really matter.
Personal honest with you - I don't think she has given this med business some thought. The friend has coerced her and so she will go with the friend. I would never go on a cruise again as it was just a floating hotel to me. And they are going for either 10 or 12 days not too sure.
Barry she goes to Miami for 6 months in the winter (for the heat) to get away from New York (then 6 months in New York) - oh I know the elite of the elite. LOL
to be honest - sightseeing will be out of the question as she is not well enough to walk around etc and is half the size she was - there is so much wrong with her - I'm so surprised she is going on this cruise.
cruise ships go round the Med in summer and the Caribbean in winter and reposition themselves twice a year, in spring and autumn. But February sounds too early for one of those; it's uauslly April or so.
