Question For The Kitchen Fitters

At the front of my kitchen sink where the stainless steel sink top meets the wooden top there is now a small gap and getting bigger.
I pulled out the washing machine expecting to find a gripper with a screw which can be tightened to pull the top of the steel down. I remember these from long ago!
Instead, lying on the ground, was a 3 inch piece of metal with serrated teeth. Traces of glue were on it and it had obviously fallen out.
There are 2 others similar which are in p!ace. How can I attach this again please. What glue would hold it down?

I'm no expert on DIY, but the 2-part epoxy glues (like Araldite) are about the strongest easily obtained for domestic use.
Builder may have other ideas!

Gorilla reckon their glue will stick anything!

Yes, Gorilla is wonderful stuff. For such a small dab, I think 2-parts such as Araldite might be better.

Also...... before you stick it back...
Run a bead of clear silicone sealant all along the gap between the sink and the cabinet.
Then... pull the sink down fully onto the cabinet using clamps if you can get some in there. Before gluing the fitting back.

As a last resort (yes, I've done this a few times) sit a couple of concrete blocks on the sink to force it down :o)

Glue the fitting.
Leave it either clamped or weighted overnight...

The silicone waterproofs the joint AND glues it down too.

Where does the glue go? Underneath?

I just assumed it was glued to the inside of the cabinet.
The trouble is, I'm afraid I don't recognise the type of clip from your description.
Is there any chance you could put up a photo?
