Hi i have my Boiler on all the time but i want to save money. Do you think it is better to turn it off and just turn it on for showers as you need it as my electric bill is very high.? thanks.
Are you at home all day? It might just need turning down a bit. Alternatively try having it on an hour in the morning and then from five(ish) to when you go to bed.
hi i have just had a smart meter installed a few days ago but previous my electric bill was high. i will turn my boiler off. What do you think.? Thanks.
In this kind of cold, I need to have the heating on at least several times a day. Morning and evening wouldn't cut it. Try having it on for several 1 hour periods. That should reduce your cost a bit...don't go without heat.
cleo... You have a gas boiler, so there will be noticeable reduction in your electricity bill even if you never turn the boiler on at all. If you want to cut your electricity bill, then you need to think about your electrical appliance use.
Sorry, I'm getting confused between the two cleos!
cleobella1, what kind of boiler do you have? Do you actually have a boiler, or maybe an immersion heater, or maybe some other hot water gadget?
I'm wondering if she has the same set up as me - gas central heating and an electric immersion heater. I turn my immersion heater off in the winter when the central heating is on
