What does the following

HND
HNC
NC
C&G Level 3
C&G level 2
actually equate to in points or A-Levels thanks.

I have a C&G Level 3 and that is equivalent to a HND Level 1. I think this is equivalent to 2 or 3 A-Levels depending on subject. I did write to C&G and they confirmed this but I don't have the email anymore to double check.

Out of curiosity, why do you need to know?

Sorry, when I mean depending on subject, I think it depends on whether it's a technical or non-technical subject.

I am just interested to see by a level standards how educated i am as i have all of those in technical subjects also i may consider doing a degree and would like to know what level of degrees i could apply for if the university states or equivelent.

KebabMeister's answer suprises me as I have got a City and Guilds in electronics Level 1 and 2 and it wasn't even close to my NC in terms of difficulty let alone my HNC which were both in electronics. I appreciate The City and Guilds he has is Level 3 but I would'nt have thought their would have been such a big jump from Level 2 to 3.

Of course you have to take into consideration what grades you get in you NC and HNC too. When I did mine there was three pass grades

1. Basic pass

2. Merit

3. Distinction.

yer same as mine i got 5 distinctions 2 merits and 3 passes on my NC and HNC.

i just wondered what they're equivelant to in a level terms.

Jay70, I have City & Guilds '383' Level 1, 2 & 3 in 'Repair & Servicing of Road Vehicles' and Level 1 & 2 are pretty much worthless without Level 3 (I think Level 3 links all previous levels up and is the minimum required by some trades). I think Level 1 is equivalent to a GCSE and maybe Level 2 either equivalent to 2 GCSEs or one A Level. Best thing though is to check with C&G themselves who'll confirm which each is equivalent to.
