Coordinates
31 Answers
Does anyone understand them please?
Google Maps gives the coordinates of a hotel as, 50. 96212, 1.83490
But when I enter them into my satnav it changes them to N 50° 26.962' E 001° 50.834'
Why does it do that, and is it correct?
I can't put the street address in because its maps can't find them

It should be possible to change the settings on Google maps to match those on your satnav but I've not been able to find out how.
In the meantime, you can convert one to the other by going to a site such as this,
https:/ /www.pg c.umn.e du/apps /conver t/
where you input the figures from Google maps and it converts it to degrees and decimal minutes.
Your satnav goes only to three decimal points so input only the first three decimal point from the result.
Check the result on your satnav to see how close that gets you to the actual location.

If you round up or down the fourth decimal figure (1-4 round down, 5-9 round up) see what difference that makes to where it shows on your satnav or Google maps.
As your satnav takes only three decimal figures, it ignores anything following that but yes, just enter the figures from the conversion site and check the outcome on Google or your satnav.

Khandro - Does this video help (from about 1:00 to 1:30)? If the coordinate format can be changed on something as basic as the 200 then there must be a way of changing it on the 250:
