How can I unlock my Orange mobile ?

My orange contract mobile has been locked. I have a 'pay as you go' sim card that I can use but Orange has locked my phone, how do I go about unlocking it without having to pay a fortune?

Some unlocking codes are available on the web. If you have a less common phone, it may be difficult. It took me 3 months and loads of calls to get Orange to achieve precisely nothing. In the end, I moved to another provider and bought a new phone because they were so utterly utterly incompetant - no records of previous calls, unwilling to put me through to the unlocking team, accusations of stupidity on my part, keeping me on hold for 52 minutes on one occasion. Oh yes, they really impressed me with their great customer services. I'm delighted to have the opportunity to slag their woeful customer services, frankly...

If you have no luck on the web, go down to your local market where the guy on the mobile phone stall should be able to do it for �10 to �20.

I have sucessfully managed to find the code on the internet and unlock my mobile. Now I need to find out how much credit is on it - it is a Samsung E700, how do I check my current credit left?

I agree with Waldo, Orange are the worst company I have ever dealt with, I bought a brand new phone and when I tried to register it they told me it was stolen, I sent them the reciept from Comet and made lots of calls and sent lots of e-mails, but no one would help me.

Comet gave me a Vodaphone sim card and I'm ok now.
