AOL offered me a goodwill guesture of monies owed to me by them. I asked them to reconsider and haven't heard anything back despite calls and letters. What should I do?

should have accepted their first offer. They are either waiting for authorisation for more money, or have been cheesed off by your request and are ignoring you.

From my recent experience of AOL I am going to give them the boot! I suggest you do the same.
