What's The Longest Time You Played Truant From School?

As per title and if you got caught, what were the consequences?
If you didn't, how come?
Any escapades occured from not being in class?
I have a few tales, which I will try to present in an interesting manner, whilst sorting my cats out.
The best one involves meeting Queen Elizabeth II, Preston 1977. Honestly.

I never played truant, but three of us missed the worst of the cross country course by dipping into one lad's house en route, and simply joining the back of the line as they returned to school. No problem, until the week it rained for days, and every one who ran through the quagmire of Bradwell Woods came back varying shades of brown, none of their white kit and...

I 'skived' school for almost 3 weeks when i was 12. I 'dossed' in a nearby empty house which some of us had turned into 'our den' and i would watch the guy from the school board knocking on my door - both parents were at work - before leaving a note through the letterbox, which i would retrieve a short time later.
My little escapade ended when dad came home from work very early and it was he who intercepted the school board's note. Once back at school, i was asked why i had truanted myself for so long, and i told the head that i wanted a transfer to a Sec Mod school where all my friends were. I still remember the steam coming out of his ears to this day :-)
I got my change of school shortly after.

Two friends and I found an injured pigeon on Wood Green High Road on the way to school so we took it to the local Animal Shelter and then were so late that we didn't bother going in to school - my mum was meeting me in a cafe for lunch so I went there early and the woman behind the counter dropped me right in it by saying in front of my mum that I had been there since about eleven o'clock! That was the first and last time I had ever played truant.
A friend had to go to the dentist and was afraid to go alone, so I went with her. After the appointment, we didn't have the means to return to school, so we hung out at a lunch counter in the center of town (where my uncle caught me smoking and reported me to my father). Anyway, I think it was pretty much the whole school day. We cooked up the plan on the bus on the way to school and I never actually went in to the school.
I believe I was the most unluckiest kid that played truant. Decided not to go to school one day, wandering around the shops when a nice kindly elderly gentleman with a tatty shopping bag asked me the time. I told him and he then asked why wasn't I at school. I told him I've bunked off with that he whipped out a clipboard out of his tatty shopping bag and took my name & address. I gave him the name of a classmate. Never did it again, well i say never.
