Visitor Visa /Sponsor

Ive looked at Govt website , but still unsure.I have a family member from a non eu country, who wishes to come to uk for a family visit.So they will apply for a visitor visa.But do i still need to sponsor them ?

Probably not but it's likely to depend upon
(a) which country they're coming from (or which country they hold a passport from, if it's not the same one) ; and
(b) how long they'll be staying for.

Your family member simply needs to apply for a Standard Visitor Visa:

There's definitely NO formal requirement for them to provide a sponsorship letter. (See the list of requirements on that page). However, just in case their application for a visa is initially refused for some reason (although that's probably very unlikely anyway), here's some guidance as to how to write a sponsorship letter if it's later called for:

@Buenchico I did one about 10 years ago.I can't remember the exact process .The only thing i do recall is going before an Appeal Judge -and i was totally unprepared - it was definitely Spanish Inquistion stuff!.I gulped a sigh of relief at the end when he peered from under his glasses and said "i believe you are telling the truth" (!)
