Ok...so I'm thinking of getting driving lessons soon but I really have no idea what the order of things are...I know I have to get a provisional liscence but then do I have to take my theory test before I start driving lessons? Thanks in advance

No, you take your Theory Test as the first part of your Driving Test - you need to pass the theory before you can advance to the actual Test itself.

You don't need this to start learning - just your Provisional Licence and an insured vehicle, and a qualified driver to take you out on the road.

It won't hurt to start learning your theory straight away, my sixteen year old daughter is already doing that and nursery driving on our private roads giving her a head start when she can go on public roads.

Just one point. When you have passed your theory, you must pass your practical within 2 years, otherwise you need to take another theory test.
