Strauss Work? By Chalicea
Good morning, a very interesting offering by Chalicea with “Strauss work?” in the Crossword Centre. My grid is almost complete, but my weakness persists with discovering the misprints. Help with the following will be appreciated. Many thanks in advance!
( PREAMBLE: 30 lies between 15 and 36 ( all unclued ). Solvers must appropriately shade 26 cells including the correct state, and obey a further instruction given by corrections of misprints appearing in the definition parts of 18 clues. ) www.crossword.org.uk/strauss.html

You have some mistakes - in 19,19 and 26.
25 The misprint is in the last word
10 The msiprint is at the beginning
19 The misprint is at begining
26 The misprint is at the end.
5 D A three letter word for 'was valid', feasible etyc has the usual Unoversity inside - it should jump out at you now!
I am pleased to have reached this far with Chalicea, even if I have not yet grasped the further instruction based on the misprints. As for 25a, if the L is incorrect, it must be a misprint because 13d in the crossing with L is SCHLOCKY.
What are the answers for the following?
10a ?S?IST ( E misprint? )
26a UNREAL/UNREAD?
Now, if you really want to take me out of my misery, please divulge the “further instruction”, the answer for 25a ( G?OLS). And as far as the 26 cells to be “appropriately”shaded, I see 12 for the state, but do not see the other 14. Is there something to be done with the other Unclueds at 15a, 30a, 31d and 32d? Thanks in advance for enlightening me!
Thanks, bobbinwales and Toorak! I had gaols, but could not parse it. The matter of the 26 cells to be shaded is still quite irksome. I’m pretty sure of the “30 lies between 15 and 36” : the state of 12 cells, the 15 which is that ocean which is so peaceful, and the 30 of three words (GGB ), followed by 31 a three-letter ornament and 32 which suggests the gift of the …or bag anagrammatically speaking! But, of course, “corrections of misprints” is not my bag of tea!
There are 18 corrections to misprints and they take the form of a three word instruction - A... S... C... (3, 10 & 5 letters). Just adding a few more of the corrected letters to those should be enough to get you there, Matakari (what would make the image in the grid more realistic?).
So far you've got - 'barD' in 10a / 'jUgs' in 25a / 'peruSed' in 26a. The other ones mentioned earlier - 'Discharge' 19a / 'masS' 5d. Here's another couple - 'Board' 24d / 'jEst' 32d (all capital letters are corrected misprints).
My appreciation, ProfessorMaisie, for helping with the misprints some of which NACW led me to. I've been trying with what I have to work out the message, but no dice! I keep toying with D,D,U,S,S,B,E and the A,S,C you so generously provided to form the three-word instruction ( 3,10,5 ), yet I don't see the light! Perhaps a gift of the remaining corrected letters might get me there, thanks! A pity to entertain the thought of abandoning Chalicea at this juncture!
