i have asked this question before but the suggested answers have not worked.

i have just moved into my fiancees house, bringing my laptop with me. her desktop computer is on ntl broadband, with a ntl modem permanantly fixed to the computer. her seperate phone line is also through bt.

my laptop is loaded with aol who i have used for years and still wish to do so. at home i had a bt phone line with an asdl splitter and a belkin wireless modem/router.

i have tried simply plugging my wirless router into her ntl phoneline but there is no connection there.

does anyone know how i can use my aol now? do i have to configure something?

does anyone know the number for the aol broadband helpline?

Why on earth would you want to pay 2 broadband rentals just to stay with the nanny state of AOL when all you need to do is run both off your modem/router.

Set your Belkin up with the VPI, VCI values and modulation that NTL will supply you with.

so your saying that i can run 2 computers of the one ntl broadband subscription?

if so then can i also run 2 computers of one aol subscription, cos ntl is crap

Shouldn't be a problem as long as your router is set up properly.I have 3 PCs and a laptop running off my router. Thats the whole idea of them.

The only problem that does spring to mind is your affinity with AOL which you might find setting up a problem as presumably the ADSL line is provided by NTL
