Someone recently gave me a copy of a TV programme on a DVD+R disc but it keeps freezing. It appears to be a bit scratched. Would one of these CD repair kits you can get from Woolworths for 9.99 do the trick? If not, any other suggestions? Cheers.

It may not be just the scratches that are causing the freezing, if you have a DVD writer on you computer try copying the disc with the burn settings at a maximum of x4 speed. and use a DVD-R disc, in my experience stand alone players deal with these alot better.

I believe the equipment called SkipDr is very good to repair scratched discs - if that is your problem. Works by polishing the surface down by microns, takes a bit of time and effort but said to really work.
skipdr is rubbish. i work for these guys: www.totaldiscrepair.com. all you need on there
