I have a message above my BTemails, in bold, not an email, so I cannot delete it.   It says To use this account you need to verify your identity.  Tap your account to sign in...  and it asks for my password.  I have tried opening my emails on my iPad and I don't get this message.  Took the phone to the pub last night and wondered if someone is trying to hack into it.  How do I get rid of this message?  As I say it's not an email so I cannot delete it.  Tia.

yes it is a scam

Check your mobile with both a virus checker and a malware checker. If it comes up clean, log into your e-mail via your normal practice, be it via a browser or an e-mail client. Do not go through the message pop-up or however it appears. One can be logged in on one device and not another but do so when you know your device is clean.

BT does send banner messages about your account in this way.

Thanks all, spoke to two lovely people at BT, they checked and said it was a reminder from them as I have had my password for a long time, and it wasn't a scam.  So I  uninstalled and reinstalled and OK now.
