It's a case of "to taste"...ie your own preference.

When I do it, it's a mug of boiling water, teaspoon of honey, large slice of lemon (including peel) and two or three thin slices of fresh ginger (I would never use dried powdered ginger personally).

You can get ginger and lemon teabags.... Two have makes a decent brew just add honey to taste

I've tried the teabags, but they just don't have enough punchy taste for my liking.

The recipe in Chris's link would be way too sweet for me (it's American after all!).
