Why Do Iphone Selfies Make You Look So Weird?
So I have an old iPhone 7, and whenever I take a selfie on it, I usually look at the pic and my face looks all distorted, such as having a nose that looks wonky, eyes look wieird, chin looks massive, hair looks messed up, but in the mirror my face is perfectly symmetrical and occasionally I manage to capture that type of image on my camera, albeit rare. I also remember 6 years ago when I graduated uni, I got my photo professionally taken by the uni in my cap and gown and I looked very handsome, but on the photos taken on my dads phone I looked horrendous. Why do phone cameras make you look so hideous?

Portraits should be taken with a fairly long focal length lens; aiming to flatten the face and blur the background; selfies are designed to get as much as possible in focus (background and foreground) so use a short focal-length lens. With a short lens objects close to the lens (eg, the nose) look disportionately bigger than those further away.
