What Is Causing This...

I have a Facebook account (for many years) plus Messenger I use to keep in touch with people from the past.  For the last few weeks, when I open Messenger on my phone I get an automated message saying "you can now sign into multiple accounts on one phone".  I have only ever had one account.  Then, a few days ago, when I open Facebook (but only on my laptop, not my phone), I immediately get an email "Security alert".  Did you just log in near (my town) on a new device.  I have changed my  password but I am still getting this same alert. Any ideas?

I get those 'security alert' messages all the time.  It happens because Facebook can't find the cookies in your browser which it put there the last time you used it.  It's absolutely nothing to worry about and can safely be ignored.

This might help with the other mesage (although you safely ignore it too anyway):
