If you read the article, you'd know that...

//the women were part of a "parliamentary delegation" on a trip organised by them and Medical Aid for Palestinians //

"In an interview with Sky News, Dame Emily Thornberry said her two colleagues are "highly intelligent, well informed" and "really well respected"."

By whom?

If Israel knew nothing about an 'official parliamentary delegation" - and no one in our government appears to have confirmed that one existed - Israel was right to err on the side of caution.

Some of these single term MPs seem to have got a rather inflated sense of their own importance.

//Medical Aid for Palestinians//

That isn't simply a humanitarian outfit like the Red Cross or Médecins Sans Frontières - it's politically motivated.

Exactly this - they've gone (or have tried to), to protest about the `Palestinian` situation to gain Brownie points at home.

“That isn't simply a humanitarian outfit like the Red Cross or Médecins Sans Frontières - it's politically motivated.”

Indeed not. In fact, “medical aid” seems somewhat peripheral to its main agenda:

https://www.map.org.uk/the-issues/the-issues

Virtually every one of the sections on its website begins by explaining the injustices the Palestinians have suffered since 1948. For example, under “Where we work”

“MAP works across the West Bank and Gaza, and in the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.

We also undertake advocacy and campaigning in the UK and internationally, seeking to raise Palestinian voices at the highest levels and address the key barriers to health and dignity for Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees.”

If these two ladies chose to visit Israel under the auspices of MAP, I’m hardly surprised they were thrown out.

Never mind. They can now spend a bit more time working for their constituents on matters which affect them here in the UK.

I hope chef has remembered that the Sunday roast needs to be 'rare', the more ooze the better.

What exact position in Labours Friends Of Israel do these chancers hold?

one of them appears to be a muslim "woman",why would israel allow a muslim in to the country???

Tommy, over 1.5 million Muslims live in Israel.  Most Palestinians are Muslim.

More to the point Tommy, why do you show the word woman in inverted commas? Is there some doubt as to the person's femininity, or just highlighting personal dislike of her?

Who was the Tory cabinet minister who went on her own private mission to Israel?

I'm sure they rolled out the red carpet for her.

Don't know.  Who?

It seems Labour has still got a lot to do with eliminating anti-semitism from within the Party.
