Prostitution Law Change

The law is to be changed to allow two prostitutes and a maid/ receptionist to be able to operate from a single premises. Previously it was only one. The law is designed to improve safety for the women.

Should government acknowlege the 'oldest profession' and take steps to protect them, or is it better to turn a blind eye lest they be seen to be encouraging such dreadful immorallity?

Seems like a move in the right direction and a victory for common sense to me, but what does everyone else reckon?

I'm personally delighted that the previous hints at a very draconian clampdown has been shelved.Girls working as described is the best way to keep organsied crime out of prostitution and means that thankfully sex workers will not criminalised.There was a lot of half truths and flack flying around regarding drug use related to prositution etc and I'm really glad that a balanced solution is on the cards.

sounds like a good idea to me, or at least a step in the right direction. Two still seems a pretty small number, though. I don't suppose the government will ever allow superstore brothels on bypasses the way they allow Tescos, but I don't see why a dozen or so shouldn't be allowed to get together, for safety and also to keep costs down.

I was so pleased when I heard this on the news tonight. Like other posters I think this is a step ahead but I also think that 2 (even if there is a receptionist) is too few.

Yes I too think it's time there was a change in the law and as previously stated it's definately a step in the right direction!
