When I look at "My Profile" on this site, I discover a number of questions I've posed have been removed. As I can't recall any of them being contensious, how can I find out which ones they were? Thanks.

Unless Google happens to have cached a page which included one of the deleted questions, I don't think that you'll be able to solve the mystery. (I couldn't find anything when I tried a simple Google search).

Questions don't have to be contentious to be removed. Many questions are reported to AB because they break the 'no cross-posting' rule. (I know 'cos I report them!). Perhaps that's why you've had some removed?

Just above the list of topics on the left is a link that says My Profile. Click on it. You will then be offered 4 choices, the second of which is called My Questions. Click on it. All the questions you have asked, including removed ones, will be displayed. Any question removed will have a banner over it stating 'This question has been banned' . You are the only one able to see that question (you and the AB editor).

Unfortunately, the wording always says banned, regardless of why it was removed. The site's FAQs states that reasons for removing questions will not be given so you will just have to apply common sense or guess. Usually it is because the question infringes one of the site's rules. Personally, I think the use of the word banned is too strong because it implies a misdemeanour has occurred, but that is not always the case.

gen2...I think you'll find that in "My Profile" the word removed has replaced the word banned.
Either way it's a waste of time e-mailing the Ed because you won't get a reply.
I know...I've tried. Infuriating.

Buenchico, why do you report questions? What has it got to do with you? Why don't you answer questions instead of running to "miss" and being a tell-tale?
Ok Skinner! Get off this site and leave our regulars alone!

Mrtamzarian,

why not report questions if they break the t&c? surely this is why there is a report post button? By getting duplicates, and other questions "banned", it just makes the site easier for everyone to use. If you had posted a question that you desperately wanted an answer to, but it was shifted off the page because of 20 duplicated questions you would be a bit miffed i presume? Many users (me included) rarely bother to look on the 2nd or more pages on any particular subject, so getting duplicate posts taken off seems sensible, allowing unique questions to be read by more people for longer

On checking My Questions, I find a couple of my questions have been barred because they've apparently been duplicated, which has been caused because the first time I pressed the Submit button nothing happened, so I obviously pressed it again. So I think we may be talking technology problems here, rather than individuals deliberately submitting the same questions/answers twice. Perhaps others have had the same difficulty with the site occasionally.
