Scalextric

Playing with my brother-in-law's Scalextric at Christmas a little plactic bit came off the bottom of the F1 type car - it's the bit which holds the metal contact for the brushes in place. I've been to the shop and bought the brush mechanism (brushes, wires and round plastic bit). I don't have the car with me but when I go there to fix it, will I have to take the whole car apart to replace the brush mechanism? (i.e. undo the 4 screws on the bottom etc)
