What does it mean We are zero plus 10

To cut a long story short my mother in law has been experiencing 'voices' in her lounge around 8am.

We stayed over one night got up early went into the lounge and could hear coming from the wall.. WE ARE ZERO PLUS 10" over and over then fades away after few mins or so, she is now convinced her house is haunted.

Personally I think its something in the house picking up sound waves from either aviation (she lives within 5 miles of an airport), military or one of emergency services and the noise is being heard in the house.

You walk towards the noises and its moves away to another wall.

Does anyone have any idea what WE ARE ZERO PLUS 10 means ? Is its a common air traffic control or airplane tranmission ?

Not sure if posted in right section, quite a lot of sections to choose from.

Anyone any ideas

Yes house is detached and is old farm house (which fuels my mother in laws opinion its haunted) so is set in 2 acres of land.

There was an old comedy series where the bloke could get radio reception via his fillings! lol, it does sound like a bounced signal from an aircraft but not civil i don't think. It also sounds like something from an apollo mission!

Sound like something an airline pilot would say when they are landing but why you would hear it through the walls is beyond me!

dotjhawkes, in the past you could also get transmissions from taxi cabs on the coil women had fitted for contraception! Not any more as theyve changed the material used.

Aeronautically it could be a g measurement according to a pilot friend of mine but he's doubtful

it never says anything else and is always the same time?Try and record it and post a sound file, I'm fascinated.

It is something that is said as part of a countdown, but I couldn't say what for. If something was due to happen at 6 p.m., that would be zero hour. 5 p.m. would be zero minus one. 7 p.m. would be zero plus one. 4 a.m. would be zero plus ten.

I sould have mentioned that the countdown may not be in hours. It could, for example, be in seconds.

It sounds like it could be zero plus 10 degrees. Although I have no idea what it'd be in relation to. See if Clanad's about. Seem to remember has something to do with aircraft at one time or another.

First of all one answer says it means 10 Gs, most very highly trained military pilots would loose concousness only going to 9 Gs so I would advise moving out of the house for safety reasons!

"Zero plus ten" is a military term, it means where zero is the start time, plus ten would mean they are 10secs or ten minutes or ten days into the mission whichever time measurment had been previously arranged.

It is used when a space Shuttle takes off, ie. Zero minus ten seconds to lft off! 10, 9, 8, 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2, 1, we have lift off.

Anyway this is all irrelavant, I think your all looneys.

Well it was recorded by unfortunatly its not very audible as its was starting to fade out.

Latest is the noise has now stopped I still think something in the house was picking up aircraft call signs or whatever.

On a serious note; if she's still convinced about a haunting then investigating the history of the house might throw up a few clues. The fact that the voices move to a different wall when approached suggests something of the supernatural but that could be a trick of the mind. You could all be contributing to a form of mass hysteria which is making you experience the same sensations.

If the history research fails then bring in a professional investigator.

Hi Lindy66 - My husband is a pilot and says this is definitely not something they would say, nor air traffic control. Please let us know how it goes and if the voices continue, I would be very interested if it does turn out to be something more supernatural. x
